Career Experience
My professional experience began shortly after college graduation with a Video Production Specialist position at Nebraska Public Media that provides invaluable hands-on opportunities to strengthen producing skills. Through this position I have worked on live productions, extensively in the sports discipline, as a camera operator and produced feature segments for collegiate as well as professional sporting broadcasts. Being able to work first-hand with directors and producers on the state and national stage (due to a partnership with BTN) has granted opportunities to understand qualities of high-level broadcasts and what goes into producing each event. This has led to further freelancing opportunities with FOX, ESPN, and ABC.
Professional Features
In producing these feature piece I was directed to find stories within transcripts from already conducted interviews. By being a storylistener I creatively worked to reveal compelling angels on stories that highlighted individuals and the humanity behind a team's logo. After identifying angles I crafted detailed A/V scripts which provided shot by shot, word by word, descriptions of my vision for the piece. These scripts were then passed along to editors who turned these visions into a reality in the final pieces listed below. Depending upon editors preference I was hands-on with the editing process in providing feedback.
